Catgirls are a widespread and variable breed based on the domesticated cat. They can be found in many different regions but prefer arboreal areas. This feline breed tends to lean toward the human range of appearance, though more animalistic forms of near human have been noted in the breed.

The typical Catgirl stands an average of 4.5-6 feet in height and typically weigh between 110- 160 lbs. In the rarer animalistic forms of the breed, individuals may sport full body fur, slight muzzles, or digigrade feet; but partial body fur has been recorded more often, particularly appearing on the forearms and forelegs. All members of the breed have feline ears, functional claws, and usually a tail that is 2/3 their height. Their overall appearance coincides with the pre-change domestic cat breeds that were prevalent in the regions the Catgirl now inhabits. Of note are Manx, Sphinx, Rex, and Edo-Bobtail Catgirls. Manx based members of this feline breed have no tails, and Edo-Bobtails have very short, stubby tails. Sphinx and Rex based individuals are among the oddest of this feline breed, as they have either very short curly fur/hair (Rex) or nearly no hair/fur at all.

Catgirls have a wide range of personalities that range from lazy to hyperactive, silly to serious. There is no uniform personality found in this breed save for the fact that many do share a common cat-like demeanor. These Pokegirls have average human intelligence and tend to pick up new concepts and adapt to situational needs easily. For this reason, some feral members of this breed have taught themselves how to open doors or to press buttons to try and get at food when living near outlying human habitations or the ruins of former cities.

When pitted against other relatively common Pokegirls, Catgirls are usually adequate battlers. The breed is noted to have powerful leg muscles that allow this feline type to travel twice as fast as a human. The average Catgirl can learn kicking and leg-based attacks much easier than other normal type breeds. As such, these Pokegirls can sometimes be a good training partner for martial arts centric Pokegirls. Outside of their speed and kicking techniques, Kitten’s Roar and Foresight are innate abilities allowing the breed to both disrupt battle and predict an opponent's moves.

Preferences for bonding are just as variable as the breed's personalities, though a tendency to adjust to their tamers preferences is noted as in most Pokegirls. Many studies have noted that this feline breed often becomes highly energetic shortly before rainstorms, which usually manifests itself as an increased desire to become intimate with their master. The same holds true for the new moon, and Researchers speculate that this is the feline DNA at work in these Pokegirls.

Feral Catgirls are predators by nature and will often attack traveling humans and weaker Pokegirls. Although they are primarily a solitary breed they do form family groups known as prides. Catgirls occasionally form large social networks where food is plentiful, making them a common nuisance for farmers and ranchers.

Awakening as a Catgirl is common and happens often among those with feline ancestry. One of the most expedient thresholds, this transformation often happens over the course of twelve hours. Typically, the soon-to-awaken girl will begin her awakening during her sleep cycle and literally awaken as a Pokegirls the next morning. Girls who are awake experience slight headaches and itchiness of the head and tailbone areas, and the transformation happens visibly.
